Re: Texas Parks and Wildlife considers Ban on Gassing Snakes
What's needed are well written letters to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commissioners.
They can be contacted on this page...http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/ab ... issioners/.
This issue needs to be brought to their attention.

Re: Question about holding hot snakes.
In my opinion...very few people have a legitimate reason to "hold" a venomous snake.

His Corn Snake painting is on the cover of Alan Tennant's Snakes of Florida Field Guide and his Grayband painting is on the cover of Alan's Snakes of Texas Field Guide. His website is http://www.edacuna.com/The_Art_of_Ed_Acuna/About_Me.html. I would suggest you c...

Re: extended droughts and herping
This is good to know but at the same time bad news for us. When my friends and family from out of state ask me about the Texas weather, my response is...I saw more rain in Tucson in 4 days than I have here in 1 year...I went to Florida in August to cool off...I'm watering my cactus to keep them alive!

Great hog pics!
I live in the Austin Texas area and have had more Eastern Hog id inquiries this year than the last few years combined!
I believe they are so active due to the drought and scarcity of toads.

South Texas herping?
Has anyone been down to the Freer area recently? Has there been any rain there? I have an opportunity to go next week but hesitate due to the drought.

Re: TX HB 1788 introduced
HB1788 did pass the House and Senate and is moving forward. There have been some amendments such as not allowing collecting from the paved road but the shoulder and right of way only. Spotlighting from a motor vehicle is not allowed. The cost of the stamp will be $10. It still needs to be signed by ...

There were six of us that went and five of us spoke. We thought it went very well. No one spoke against the bill.
Hopefully it will be voted on next week.

Re: FHF POLL on HB 1788 and Herp Stamp Usage in TEXAS
Not only should you vote here, you should broadcast that this poll is up and running and encourage everyone you know to put in their votes as well. As it stands right now, it only looks like there are a few of us (with less than 100 voting). We need a bigger data set! I've been promoting the idea o...
