Re: Tips/Itinerary for Florida Everglades Trip

It is technically illegal to handle any wildlife within the park (including burms), and I would personally advise against carrying a dipnet or a snake hook (realistically you could get away with it but be warned). That said, the book "A Field Guide to the Snakes of Southern Florida" by FHF...

Re: [Video] Delta Morph California Kingsnake!

That's a really nice golden one, Mark. Looks like it had recently shed too. Counting DORs, I've seen 14 more kings in the valley since last Saturday and still only the one delta, putting my ratio at 47:1 for deltas and 47:3 for partial/golden black bellies. Maybe I'm just unlucky Here is one of the ...

[Video] Delta Morph California Kingsnake!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4rhsZdbr0s Video of my lifer Delta morph cal king. After herping within Delta morph range all year, I legitimately thought I wouldn't find any (hence my excitement) . The previous eleven kingsnakes I found last night were all completely normal and of the 33 kings I'...

Re: Herping Mojave October 2019

I went to the Mohave in Northern Arizona and Las Vegas in September and activity was slow. We still found stuff (including a pyro up in the mountains), but road cruising was basically dead, especially down in the flats.

Re: 2018 End of Year, End of Flickr, & On to Video - the seq

Here's some better shots of the melanistic gigas. I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, but the patterning looks a little abberant even for melantistic ones. Re: Batrachoseps minor/nigriventris identification

Just got confirmation from Dr. Sam Sweet that it is B. minor! Stoked to have gotten my lifer of one of the rarer batrachoseps.

Batrachoseps minor/nigriventris identification

I would appreciate some second opinions on whether this Batrachoseps is nigriventris or minor. It was found at a well known B. minor locality and at the time I found it I was certain it was nigriventris, but looking at it now I am unsure. I know identifying juvenile batrachoseps is no easy task and ...

Hualapai Herping [Video]

https://youtu.be/HrXEdZ1Ahac Video from a late September trip to the Hualapai Mountains in northern Arizona. The coachwhips, tortoises, and sidewinder were all from the Vegas area, but everything else was from the Hualapais and the surroudning area. After years of searching for Zonata in NorCal (see...
