Re: Lifer King Cobra
Great find ... WOW , a KIng Cobra in the wild ! But I dont see what the problem was with the guy rescuing the snake from the canal ... what was wrong with him putting the snake back into the forest ? He seemed like he did this a hundred time before .... even was prepared with a 'hook' long enough to...

Lesson learned I never want to have repeated. That haunted me for years . How about the ones that are walking along the road ... y...

Re: Clever Snake Mom
I find the turtle egg theory to be hard to imagine too because of the decomposition , but when he said one was 'cracked' it sounds like a turtle egg rather than a snake egg. I still don't see a snake feeling secure enough to lay eggs with only her tail end concealed. It's not like there wasn't any o...

Re: Clever Snake Mom
Not Racer .... those eggs look smooth while racers are grainy ( like salt was on the shell ) ... besides a gravid racer wouldn't fit in the shell.
Are you hatching them to find out what they are ? How many were there ?

Re: Louisianna and/or East Texas this weekend; last minute t
Have to ask about the Black Pine Snake you listed .... ( DOR I'm guessing ? ) This was in Louisiana ? Reason I ask is according to a 2010 report by Duran who was doing the field work on them at the time, the Black Pine hadn't been seen in LA in over 30 years , which would now make it almost 40 years...
