Re: Big Island Hawaii Herping...Need some help on species fo

Lol. Yeah, I pretty much enjoy seeing any herp no matter how "appealing" they are. I just would like to know what the heck I was looking at :P The link didn't work for me :( Yeah, I've heard the galapagos is a bucket list place for sure. I would like to try costa rica sometime too! I figur...

Re: Big Island Hawaii Herping...Need some help on species fo

Thanks for the response. I am glad someone responded. I figured I would get more responses by now. From what I have been told, the same gecko (ex: Common day gecko) can have many variation in pattern which makes it so hard to know which one is which since a lot of the geckos look similar. And I've o...

Re: Phrynosoma in Kern Co

As far as I know, Blainville's are not found east of the sierras for Kern County. I have seen them in Kern County on the Sierra foothills toward the desert flats but never in the flats. On the desert floor, is pretty much desert horned lizard territory. So this would be news to me. All of the range ...

Re: New to the Forum

I seem to always be late to the party... but as kind of an expert flipper I really like this advice of Jimi's: "OTOH if everything you're flipping is too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, too big, too small, too flat, too thick, whatever - it's a waste of time and you're also messing up t...

Re: New to the Forum

Welcome to the tribe, Brother Ryan. The Rocky Mtn chapter does several group outings a year in the northeastern Mojave, watch the chapter forum for threads. Also, hopefully you have and use the HERP app, or some other system for archiving your finds. Are you familiar with the HERP database? It's he...

Re: New to the Forum

Thanks Dan! Yeah, I've found that most fellow herpers are good people, but like you said I have to earn their trust. I've got a YouTube Channel where I have done some networking, but this forum looks like a fantastic site too. Group outings would be really awesome! I will look for those! I practice ...

New to the Forum

Hi all, New to the Forum. I found and started my passion of herping in 2015. I am still somewhat "green", but have become pretty good at desert herping. I have done most of it on my own through research but networking is key too. I am willing to help out when possible by giving tips and ad...
