Bocas Del Toro- Request for Information

Does anyone have recommendations for eco-lodges in the Bocas area? The nicer ones I see online seem pretty pricey.
We're definitely looking for a nicer place with beach access and hopefully some jungle trails within walking distance.

What's coming out the the gut of the DOR Loxocemus? Looks like a snake... Were you able to ID it?

I believe your Costa Rican racer is a juvenile Salmon-Bellied Racer (Mastigodryas) and not a Barred Racer (Dendrophidian)...

Does anyone have input about the difference between Cahuita park and Manzanillo park from a species diversity standpoint? I've heard here are tons of Bothriechis in either spot.

Thanks for all the help guys. I want to split my time between two spots. I think we'll do La Selva Bio Station for one, but I'm still open for the other. For the second spot, I'd be looking for something more upscale. Not a high-end resort by any stretch, but more of an eco-lodge with bungalows etc ...

That would also be news to me. I can't think of any scenario by which he'd be able to legally sell a wild caught z. He could potentially have a permit to keep the hots he has on his site though.

The kingsnake link is him clearly stating he's selling a wild-caught zonata. He's located in Tracy, CA and also has some pics of cobras etc on his website. No idea who he is or what sort of permits he has. He may be perfectly legal for all I know. That's why I was wondering if anyone here knows him.

I used to put some dry ice in a small tub with water and holes in the top. Then, I'd place that tub inside a larger airtight tub containing the rodents.

Simpleyork- no worries! Mussurana are pretty obscure. I have had my unicolor cribos on display at the reptile shows and people ask me about the legality of displaying a king cobra!

Paul- I don't really cycle any of my snakes. I let the seasonal temp fluctuations do the trick. In the winter, I allow the nighttime temps to drop into the low 60's. They generally start locking up in November... Hopefully I'll still have a pair for you in December!
