A trip to Arizona

This was my first trip to Arizona and man was it a blast. Its my first time finding western diamond back's so its very exciting for me, but they are a very common snake so I can see why some of you from Arizona can get bummed out on them. Anyone have tips for herping Arizona in Maricopa county?

For spring break i'm going to be going to Maricopa county in the Salt River Reservation. I am super stoked about this because I haven't traveled out west before, so mostly every snake, lizard, or frog I find will be a lifer. If you have any great advice to share it would be greatly appreciated! Than...

In reference to the value of these posts with localities, etc. . . I believe it's the book of Proverbs that says "As iron sharpens iron, so one man (herper, in this case) sharpens another." The point is, humans are a communal species, and there's not a single dang herper on here who would...

I do agree about the risks. It was the first and last time i ever did that, but these snakes were in the shade. no harm done. but it would be a great way to find target species if necessary, check out "A Snake Hunting Guide II" they have great advice and techniques.

I've used a big minnow trap, cut out the holes a little more. then put it beside a concrete bridge, covered it with sticks, i had about 25 northern waters in it, it was pretty cool, first time I've ever done it.
