Re: January 2023 Herping in the Southeast

Much respect for taking the time to lay all that out on the FHF. If anyone can revive this place, it's NKFherping. I''ve seen a few of your videos on YouTube, you're quite the herper. Need a haircut, but that's for another thread. :D One piece of advice on posts like these. Put DUW at the beginning....

If Marisa (Crazins) was still active, she could definitely give you some pointers.

Re: Questions about Coluber constrictor mormon

In the area you'll be in, I'd get more in the flats, less in the forested hills. Cruising some dirt roads outside of town and flipping some junk. Early am or late afternoon depending on temps.

Re: Questions about Coluber constrictor mormon

1) what temp range do you generally see them active above ground, and Personally, they are similar to coaches and whips, imo, so they like it on the hotter side. 2) do they seem to be more active in the morning or the afternoon? Found them morning, midday, and afternoon, but from my personal experi...

Think there have been some "changes" to that area due to construction. Not as "remote" and "wild" as it used to be. :(

I'm coming out there in 2021, Lord willin' and the creek does rise.
I need to find one of those shovel-nosed snakes.
Maybe we can hang out and Catch It.

I know you already made a trip, but KS in Sept or even Oct can be good. Weather permitting. Mid Sept with the new moon in western KS, decent temps. Badda bing! Badda boom!

Sorry about that, I don't view it as a bad thing. I can see from your point of view it's probably better left in the archives.

The day the music died.

I saw this photo on one of those goofy FB herping meme pages. Although it was a sad day 9 years ago today, the FHF lives on! And? Without stupid memes and censorship like 99.99% of FB groups. Viva la FHF!!

Re: What happened to the forum..I hear Crickets and smell de

How to revive the FHF??The DFG started monitoring the forum and hassling those posting images. Later the deletion of the CALIFORNIA forum by Scott sealed its dreadful future. If they disagree, its because they agree California's herps are the superior. You wait until your father gets home mister!! :x

Some nice shots. I remember standing at a campfire somewhere near Snake Rd with a bunch of people singing happy birthday to someone by the name of Mike. It's all a blur now.
