Re: Boa action, crossed off targets, and nighttime magic
Great shots Jeremy. That was an unusually slow night in Kern County for snakes, still cool to finally run into you and I'm glad you guys managed a Boa! That speck is insane man, what a cryptic animal and a looker too. Keep it up you've been killing it this year!

Re: First 3/4 of 2016- part two, what happened to the monsoo
Love Albuquerque, and the state of New Mexico in general! I had the pleasure of taking a two month trip out to Moriarty last summer and traveled all over the state with a good friend. NM quickly became my favorite of the states I've yet to see and I've made another three trips since then, cant wait ...

Nice shots and nice boa! Looks like a solid day in the Gabes. I've tried for those and zonota a couple times but I never do good with snakes in that mountain range, nothing but gophers, southerns, and one cal king for me. I'm due for another visit soon for sure.

Thanks everyone. this thing was super cool. Very cool! It's been a little while since my last post and I've been wanting to share some of my spring encounters. Unfortunately the laptop I save all my photos on has taken a crap on me and it wont power up or hold a charge which really sucks. At this time I have very few photos on my new laptop but I wanted...

Steve Bledsoe, I thank you very much for that info. I just wanted to be sure of the availability of exact locations before I released that information on the web. Now this grasshoper is off to enter some records!

Questions about entering NAHERP data
I was planning on entering as much data as possible tonight until I realized coordinates are required. My apologies in advance if this has been gone over in another thread I missed, but to whom are these coords available after entering the record.
What if I don't have the coords?

February Zards (same as forum)
I know it's a bit early on in the year but I still got out 3-4 days each week this month. I spent a majority of this time scouting for some nice Zonata habitat in the San Gabes, and potential Los Angeles County Gracia locations in the Mojave desert (wish me luck! I know I'll need it haha), which is ...

Might get a better response posting in the Ca forum... Im new to the area but I enjoy it. I've found Mojaves and Southern Pacifics on the same roads in my area last year. I'm always hoping to see an unusual looking rattler but no such luck. I have seen a couple Gopher Snakes that looked like Great Basin/San Diego intergrades though. Yes... almost certa...

They're not hard to find, if you know how, when and where... there's a spot 5 min from my house, where i can flip several dozen an hour... even in 6 inches of snow. no time to look for my 'snowy night' pics right now (gotta go to work) but hopefully this'll do, for now... :) http://i209.photobucket...

Re: Xantusia vigilis vigilis
Xantusia are wonderful little lizards. They are a very interesting Genus and have certain physiological traits unique to them. They are one of the few lizard species which are actually viviparous (or as close to the mammalian definition as you can get). Their body actually develops an organ analogo...

from the looks of the snake and the info I would say Midget Faded Rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus concolor).
Great Basin Rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus lutosus) is my second guess.

I agree with Chris McM. There are at least two and I think three species of Spadefoot in your photos (bombifrons, couchii, multiplicata). You may have a couple more lifers! All three species are there in the photos. We've had a lot of rain, herping has been off the hook this year. Josh Well then it...

I wouldn't normally think "central NM" and "summer" would sound like a great herping experience, but you did very well! 1. Are all your spadefoots (spadefeet?) bombifrons? 2. Good sized lined snake. 3. Cloacal popping on the longnose or hit by a car? Thanks man, the longnose was...

Got out to New Mexico with my buddy Kyler this year for a family visit and the herping out there is addicting! Every species was a lifer and we found so many snakes we stopped counting.
