Hey bud, I love this system, end of story. I built my macro rig around it. The only downside I hear people talk about is that the flashes can not be hotshoe mounted. That's great info, Chris. I'm still seeing this guy on a near daily basis down here. There are other sighting from last week from the Dry Tortugas, but that really quite a ways off from here.
All f the stilt nests in this area have hatched now, as have the Least Terns.

Hey Chris,
Last Sept. we got photos of a banded flamingo, only the second to be recorded in the park. We called it in and turns out that it was banded two years earlier in the Yucatan, Mexico. Pretty neat!

Thanks, Tamara. It was a wonderful week out on the bay. With the exception of the Least terns, the other shore birds aren't nesting out there yet, but many species are now donning their beautiful summer plumage.

I would be very interested to know how you got the photo of the pugnosed anole ? What settings did you use? I've tried many times to get shots of agamids similar to this under heavy canopy but the lighting makes it difficult. And flash can only be used sparingly if at all. Any pointers on this shot...

Thanks, Bill! Brian mentioned some of the ecology of these lizards. These exact specimens are all from the forest floor or understory. Brian, those Diploglossus are amazing animals. Craugastor sp Panama, May 2013 This huge female specimen of an undescribed species of Craugastor was the size of my fist! Without looking at the reviews for the Canon version, I'd say that the 18-105mm fits the bill. I'm a slave to my 28-300mm just because of the range that it offers.
