Agreed! I would look at the 60mm or 100mm if I were you. The 60mm is pretty cheap, and is an amazing lens!Norman D wrote: I would rather use pop-up flash with a macro lens.... than an 18-55mm with a speedlite. But we all have different goals with photography.

Re: Full Frame Herp Lens?
How much are you looking to spend? I shoot the 100mm L on a 6d, and in my opinion, it is by far the best lens for most herp shots. If you're looking for a herp in habitat lens, the 16-35mm L is probably the best, unless you're looking to dump a bunch of money on the 14mm L. The 17-40mm L is quite a ...

Hard Drive Recovery
A few years ago, the hard drive on my MacBook crashed. I have looked into having the images recovered, but the local shop says that they can't quote me a price until they're $250 in, but it could cost up to $1000. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a cheaper way to do it? Does $1000 se...

...but I ended up selling it in favor of the 100mm L over the winter. Don't regret it one bit! Do you like the 100mm L over the non-L version? Is it worth the money? I have been using the non-L version for 6-7 years and wondered if an upgrade would be worth it. However, I doubt I'd be able to do it...
Re: Herp Lens
You could probably pick up a 17-40mm L and a 100mm non L for the same price as a 24-105mm. Gives you a wider angle for landscapes, and also a solid macro lens for herp photography. I shot the 24-105 all last year, but I ended up selling it in favor of the 100mm L over the winter. Don't regret it one...

For me it has nothing to do with being macho or brave. I agree that holding a hot snake is not wise or safe and that there is no reason why anyone should but it is just something that I want to do. I can't just look at a snake and not hold it. Holding it in a tube doesn't do it for me either. Also ...

Pajirito, Patagonia and Nogales may be good regions since they have the distinctive habitat of almost a northen "Tropical Deciduous Forest". If they were in any of those areas, they would have been found by now. It's not like we're talking about a little fossorial snake. Those are by far ...
