Great post, Hunter, and some really nice finds. I'm also in Utah, but don't get out as much as I should.
Thanks for posting and giving me some more motivation!

Thanks for posting those fantastic photos. It is great to see new species and species not commonly seen. That is my favorite thing about this forum.

Awesome photos of some amazing animals! How did you even get that close to a keithorni? The one I saw was up a tree faster than greased lightning! Fantastic photos and makes me really excited for my trip later this year!
Cheers,
Justin
Awesome trip! When I went, it rained pretty much the whole time, but I still managed to find some amazing herps. I really need to get back to see some of the stuff you found. Thanks for posting. That bredli was amazing!!!

Great post! That is why Australia is so amazing. Even a fairly unsuccessful trip during the blazing heat of summer yields so many cool species. Can't wait to make it over again!
Justin
Nice post and welcome home. I saw a hedgehog in Berlin. Lucky I was called there, as I think all the herps in Africa or Amazonia would have been distracting. And don't even mention those spoiled elders in Australia.

We watched it together as a family and the kids wanted to do a big year too. Fun movie as well. I thought maybe a state-wide big year, try to find all the species that occur in my state of Utah in a single year. Still waiting on some extra cash to do that though. Not quite as ambitious, but it would...
Fantastic post and some great photography! Why are the barroni always so beat up looking with lots of scars and such? How common are they within their range? Love those cygnitos and the stimsoni eating a bat shots as well. Thanks for posting!

Great post, Tom! I would agree that finding a perentie would be the ultimate. I have yet to reach that goal. Struck out after a few weeks in Alice Springs, but it was a little rainy. Just means I have to go back.
Justin
Congrats, man. I wish I could have found a sheai up there. I was lucky enough to find a gemmata on little Narlangie rock. They are beautiful geckos!

Always enjoy your threads! Beautiful animals! Sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. From your descriptions, she is definitely one in a million. Reminds me of my mom. Love that shot of her taking a bite. The artwork is fantastic as well.
Here is some video footage of some of the stuff I filmed in Darwin/Sydney on my last trip to Australia in Oct 2011. I had a fantastic time and got to herp with some great people. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbWmpbd-2og&list=UUgU_IKdYsuVRbulhWsqBMLQ&index=3&feature=plcp http://w...
Great post of some things you don't see too often. That Rankinia is very cool and fairly atypical for an Australian agamid. The skink dragging incident looked pretty bad for the smaller animal, and from the picture looks like it's front left limb is being ripped off. Thanks for the lesser seen anima...
Epic post! Loved the travelogue and your wonderful pictures. What a great trip! Very interesting Antaresia you found. I will have to ask you more about them offline. Thanks for taking the time to post all of your finds!

Fantastic report! Love that area. Looks like you had a productive trip. I walked around Lake Barine at night, but only saw a single leaftail and a few possums.
Thanks for posting,
Justin
Great post(s) Jeff! Looks like you had a great time with your dad. Thanks for posting, and for a non-herp trip, there seemed to be some really cool stuff found.
Justin
Fantastic post! That wouldn't feel too good to have a bat go down sideways. Great pictures. Would love to watch a pilbarensis running around. Thanks for posting!

Nice! Looks like you saw some great stuff. It was a bit rainy while I was in Alice in early October. Looks like I should have gone a month later. Thanks for posting and excited to see your next post(s).
Justin
Thanks for all the comments! Serpentes, I also saw some eremius that were too quick for pictures. In Iron range, I saw keithhorni and panoptes bringing the total of Varanids for the trip up to 7! I was pretty happy with the count. Paul, I thought it was interesting that a wild bearded dragon with a ...
Got all the pictures up for the trip to Alice Springs area. Was a blast, despite some wetter than average weather. It was a bit cold, but we still managed to see some cool herps. The report and details can be seen at: http://www.australianaddiction.com/Visit_Australia2010-5.html Enjoy! Justin http:/...
Thanks for the heads up on the corrections guys, especially the skinks and frogs.
Gus, are you sure that juvenile is a water dragon and not a boyds? It was from the curtain fig tree with many boyds around. Do you have a pic of a juvenile boyds?
Casey, thanks, I owe you a lot. Midnight Oil came to UT and put on a free show the year they broke up. It was amazing! They are the greatest band, although many of the Aussies seem to think old Pete has sold out as a politician. Sarah, where are you headed next year? I am also going back as well nex...
Well, finally got around to getting my pics up from Cairns and Iron Range. I am just including pictures here, so if you are inclined to read about my adventures, you can check out the text that accompanies the photos at: http://www.australianaddiction.com/Visit_Australia2010.html If any of you read ...
