Yes, I was in the taxidermy trade for several years and we used a 50-50 mix of rubbing (isopropel) alcohol and glycerine to paint the inside of a cleaned (scraped) and stretched and pinned skin. Thanks Chris, no, I did not know that. My formal education ended before computers were commomplace and I spent the next forty years without being expose to them. It took me about 3 months to get the GPS coords onto my records. Thanks again, Art

Yes, good idea. I have to search through several pages to get the correct date. And with only 1100 entries. This would be a great cross check for correcting any data mistakes. Kinosternon arizonense. Sorry no pix, but it was the only one in our DB until I checked the original entry and found that I had collected and saved another specimen a year later and both are vouchered. (50+ years ago when photography was left to the experts.) Art Cecil

My record #58811 is the only database record for Kinosternum arizonaense and is vouchered as a museum specimen and is over 50 years old, but I am color blind and can't tell if it's green or purple. Check that and it should answer the question. Art Cecil

That first shot is perfect. It shows the easiest distinctions to see the difference between tigris and mitcheli. The tail bands lacking black and white, and the relatively smaller head. When you do get a Mitchels, try to get a photo in the same position. Art
