I would love to see some pictures of Northerns from the state of Virginia, and see how they differ in color and pattern from New Jersey animals.

I doubt that you will use these in your feild guide, but I thought I would add them to this collection of Indigo pictures. These pictures were taken back in the late 1980's or 1990. They were slides that I made pictures from. Sorry about the quality of these photos (and my shorts). The snake was nam...

Re: Anyone available for herping the Outer Banks NC?
FH,
How about around the lake. I could swear that someone told me that they found EDB's there. Perhaps they were talking about Canebrakes? I don't plan on going further south than Lake Mattamuskeet.
What other species might I encounter?
Thanks,
Jay

Appalachian Trail, senic, beautiful, and Timber Rattlesnakes
I took a trip to a section of the Appalachin Trail ( I won't disclose what state I was in to protect these snakes) over 2 weekends, to check up on a spot where I found Timbers (off the trail) in the past. Thought this would be fun...First encounter with Bob Assetto
Since it is the winter season here in PA, and not much herping going on, I thought it would be fun to do something different and describe one of my first encounters with a reptile person instead of a reptile.
