"My
dad first turned me on to field herping at a young age. He used
to occasionally go out to look for snakes, and a lot of time was
spent looking for herps on our familys summer vacations. Most people
say it's odd that I would be into the same thing as my dad, but
its herping, how could I not like being out in nature finding awesome
animals? My dad, my brother and I, and usually our close friend
Adam, have started taking several herping trips a year to various
places in the midwest. We always have a good time, and thats whats
important. I spend as much time as I can herping in the Chicago
area." |

| "In
the last few years, I have really gotten into photography, and
of course, my favorite subjects are herps. I enjoy taking pictures
of all sorts of things, but I like herp photography the best.
I am currently going to a community college, but I am transferring
to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale this fall to major
in photography." |

| "I
love every part of nature, not just herps. I hope I can make a
difference in the people who hate snakes through my photography.
If I can show them how beautiful these creatures can be, maybe
they will feel some sort of compassion for these animals that
I love." |

"One of my
long term goals is to photograph every species of herp in Illinois,
from as many different counties as possible, and display them on
my website. www.ILherps.com.
I maintain a life
list, write field reports, and I display
all my photos. I also participate and display many photos right
here at Fieldherpforum.com. This is a great way for herpers to talk
to each other, and I am happy to be a part of it. Scott and J.P.
really do us all a great service with this site." |
