"I
have been fascinated with herps, especially snakes, for as long
as I can remember. I lived next to a junkyard built on a sand prairie
when I was a kid, so I was always finding Bullsnakes and Blue Racers.
In my teens, I found other things to occupy my time, but got back
into herps in my early twenties." |

| "I
went through a phase of keeping and breeding a fairly large collection
of captive bred snakes, but that became too much work and I got
out of it. I still enjoyed field herping, but without a group
of people to share things with I wasn't too motivated to get out.
That is why I enjoy forums like this one, they give me a way to
share what I find with fellow herpers and push me to try and find
new species." |

| "My
wife Laura and my son Austin are both into herping, which makes
it much easier for me to spend time in the field. We enjoy going
out as a family, especially on trips to Kansas. Laura is a real
trooper; somewhere I have pictures of her pregnant with Austin
and trying to climb thru a barbed wire fence to go flip some tin
in a field somewhere in Kansas!" |

| "I live in Center
Point, Iowa and work as the Macintosh System Administrator at the
Gazette, the newspaper in Cedar Rapids. I keep a few snakes, a couple
of corn snakes, a chinese rat snake, and a ball python. I play bass
and sing in a original music project called Oblivious Minnow, practice
a Chinese martial art called Wing Chun, and assist with law enforcement
physical skills instruction for Halligan’s Combat Training Systems." |
