Though Phil enjoys taking the
occasional road trip out of state, his primary herping focus has
always been in his home state of Kentucky. He is currently the Vice
President of the Kentucky
Herpetological Society, and a herp consultant for the state of KY
species conservation program.
Starting late this past summer,
Phil has been assisting in a herp study at Mammoth Cave National
Park. Along with his friend and regular field partner, Will Bird,
they have been doing research on corn snakes in Kentucky.
Collecting natural history
observations, as well as meristical data, on this isolated
population of snakes for several years. They plan on submitting
they're work for publication in 2005.
Along with
his wife Sheila, and four children, they
reside in Louisville where Phil works as a lab technician in a power
plant.
